Monotributo Calculator (Argentina)

The monotributo is the simplified regime with which most self-employed workers in Argentina pay their taxes: a single monthly fee that bundles the tax, the pension and the health coverage, depending on the category you are in. And the category depends, above all, on how much you bill per year. This calculator takes your estimated monthly billing, derives the annual figure by multiplying by twelve, and shows you — for both possible activities, services and sale of goods — the category that fits, using the official ARCA table, together with a breakdown of the total monthly fee you will pay.

$

Estimate using the official ARCA table in force from August 2026, updated every six months (January and July). The category is determined here only by annual billing; in reality the premises area, electricity consumed and rents also count. The fee includes the integrated tax + pension contributions (SIPA) + health coverage. Check your situation with ARCA or an accountant.

How it works

The monotributo sorts taxpayers into categories from A to K, each with an annual billing cap. The calculator derives your annual billing (monthly × 12), compares it with those caps and assigns you the lowest category whose limit still exceeds it: if you bill one million a month, twelve million a year, you exceed the A cap (about 10.3 million) but not the B cap (about 15 million), so you land in B. Once the category is found, the monthly fee is shown, and it is not just a tax: it includes the tax component (integrated tax), the SIPA pension contribution and the health-coverage contribution, all in a single payment, and the breakdown shows how much goes to each. The difference between activities is only the amount: in services, the integrated tax of the high categories is more expensive than in the sale of goods (retail), while the SIPA and the health coverage are identical for both. Both activities are categorized with the same billing caps and reach up to K.

Monotributo categories and fees 2026

This is the official ARCA table in force from August 2026 (the values are updated every six months, in January and July). The monthly fee already includes the integrated tax, the pension contribution and the health coverage. Every category, from A to K, is available for both services and the sale of goods, with the same annual billing caps; what changes is the amount of the integrated tax, more expensive in services in the upper bands.

What the fee includes and when you recategorize

The great advantage of the monotributo is that a single fee settles three obligations: the tax component (which replaces VAT and income tax), the SIPA pension contribution that keeps adding years of contributions, and the contribution to a health plan. That is why it is not "just a tax": a large part of the fee is your pension and your health coverage. Recategorization is every six months: in January and July you must review your billing over the last twelve months and, if you changed band, update your category. If you stayed in the same one, you do nothing. And if you exceed the cap of the highest category, K — the same billing limit for services and retail —, you are excluded from the monotributo and move to the General Regime as Responsable Inscripto, where you pay VAT and income tax separately. The calculator warns you when your billing exceeds the regime.

Preguntas frecuentes

What does the monotributo fee include?
Three components in a single payment: the integrated tax (which replaces VAT and income tax), the SIPA pension contribution (which adds years toward your pension) and the health-coverage contribution. That is why, although people talk of "the monotributo tax", a large part of the fee is actually your pension and your health coverage.
How often do I have to recategorize?
Recategorization is every six months: in January and July you review your billing over the last twelve months. If you changed band (up or down), you update your category; if you stayed in the same one, you do nothing. It is important to do it on time, because billing above your category without recategorizing can bring fines or exclusion.
What is the difference between services and sale of goods?
It is the type of activity and it changes only the amount of the integrated tax in the high categories: in services it is more expensive than in retail, especially from category G onward. The pension contribution (SIPA) and the health coverage are identical for both activities, and both are categorized with the same billing caps and reach up to K. The calculator shows you the two columns, services and retail, with the full breakdown, so you can compare.
What happens if I exceed the billing cap?
If your annual billing exceeds the cap of the highest category, K (the same billing limit for services and retail), you are excluded from the monotributo. From then on you must register in the General Regime as Responsable Inscripto, where you no longer pay a fixed fee but VAT and income tax separately, with more formal obligations. The calculator warns you when your billing exceeds the regime.
Do the category values change?
Yes, they are updated every six months. The table of billing caps and fees is adjusted in January and July for inflation, so the amounts you see here correspond to the period in force from August 2026 and will move again at the next update. Besides billing, the actual categorization also considers the premises area, the electricity consumed and the rents.
