The words are not random gibberish: they come from "De finibus bonorum et malorum", a treatise on ethics written by the Roman statesman Cicero in 45 BC. The famous opening "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet" is a garbled version of a passage that begins "Neque porro quisquam est qui dolorem ipsum…" ("There is no one who loves pain itself"). A printer in the 1500s scrambled that text to make a type specimen, and it stuck. Each time you generate, the tool assembles random sentences of varying length, groups them into paragraphs, and joins the requested number of paragraphs together. Designers use it precisely because the words carry no real meaning: the eye reads them as a neutral block, so attention stays on layout, spacing and typography instead of on the message — and no half-finished sentence can accidentally ship to a client as if it were final copy.
